Well after a few days at the Dusseldorf show we are headed North towards Kiel and the Baltic Coast, last nights (2 nights) stop was at Cloppenburg Museumdorf Open air museum.

Nice quiet parking and a bit of town if you want it, open air museum was good for half a day hence the two night stop,

The museum is a collection of buildings from around the area that have been dismantled and rebuilt To form a small village, they started it around 1937 entrance cost €7.50.

The first part with the giant 2 metre deep plough and a collection of tractors and farm machinery is free(y)

If the weather is good nice up there but the way temeraturers have dropped in France the last couple days may not be so good.
Love the islands of Rugan & Usedome stayed on some Stellaplatz that were peoples back gardens.
Language can be a bit of a problem as being the old east second language is Russian.

There is a public transport ferry service running between Kiel and Laboe. It's about 9 euros for a day rider ticket with hop on hop off points on both side of the Kiel Fiord.

After Kiel area, Lübeck is a must. Large stellplatz just outside old centre across a bridge. 10 euros but free on Sunday and Sunday night.

The "push me - pull you" plough is like the ones used in this country which were winched backwards and forwards by two traction engines on either side of the field. :)
Indeed it is but this one with single blade ploughs to about 2 metres and had two big engines each side.

We are on the Stellplatz at Eckernförde which is West of Kiel on account of the Kiel Stellplatz being full,

IMG_0822.JPG

Nice enough Stellplatz but at €18 a night it should be, spotless toilet block and showers so a bit posh.

Well we left Denmark because it was raining, and it was still raining when got to Germany, we avoided the traffic jams in Hamburg by cutting across to Gluckstadt and the ferry over the Elbe.

IMG_0860.JPG

A bit tightly packed.

Oh and a two hour wait for the ferry

This is just one of the batteries (Varta apparently)

IMG_0867.JPG

230 tons of battery, the Diesel engine charged the batteries and powered the sub on the surface but under the water it ran on electric motors,
