Does anyone have good recommendations for comp insurance for tha Balkans? Especially montenegro, Bosnia, Albania.

Nfu only offer minimum cover. I know LV do but they base their insurance on the chassis and ours isnt on their list. I have already asked Comfort, and Adrian Flux, and whoever C&cc use.

Thanks
Jon

Have you tried SAGA Jon?
Although not Balkans related, they accepted our MH for recovery and repatriation, when many others refused due to weight, length, height, and age. :( You might get lucky with them.

Good luvck. (y)

Jock. :)

Engine size? What on earth does that have to do with insuring a Motorcaravan, as stated on the V5?

Maybe those with ARVs, might be able to point you in the right direction Jon.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Dear All,

I have just been through this process as well. My motorhome is a Ford Hobby Exclusive. I needed cover for Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia and Slovenia.

Like Jon, I started with Adrian Flux....no joy. I also tried Comfort Insurance, which is recommended on some forums....again, no joy. NFU were able to offer 3rd Party only (including in Croatia, which was a surprise, given it's in the EU), and they were also quite expensive. Sterling were the only company able to cover everywhere with one policy (including Kosovo, which is unusual), but again only 3rd Party and rather expensive.

In the end I managed to get cover with LV=, although finding my vehicle on their system was difficult. Jon, it might be worth you having another go, I think some of the call handlers are better than others for 'complicated' cases, but I must say that everyone I spoke to at LV= were delightful! LV= were also the only company who provided comprehensive cover in the Balkans. I needed to get a Green Card from LV= for Albania and Serbia (which wasn't too expensive). The two countries they can't cover are North Macedonia and Kosovo, but I gather it is easy to get cover for these countries at the border.

Good luck!
Barney
