Hi all.
Anyone else experiencing rusting rear indicators / break lights / reversing lights on their Bailey? Bit of a shocker.

Nothing surprises me on MHs. Took me 2 days to change a brake light bulb.

Unless you do something to protect them your new ones will do the same.

Replaced under warranty- why they are not plastic heaven knows. They don't actually do anything - just a trim.

Somebody on the TBMOG had them sand blasted and painted in Peugeot white and they look quite effective. I suspect Hammerite finish will do the same job

Got a set of replacements - same metal. Coated them in AutoGlym resin polish before putting them on. Doubt they'll last a 12 month.

What year is yours? This is 2015

There’s a lot of coverage of this on THE Bailey motorhome owners group FB page. As above with getting them off. People have been getting them sandblasted etc. Once rubbed down some have done them in Peugeot white and it looks smart. Also less than 3 years old then they have been accepted as a warranty issue.

Thanks to Paul wilkins got them of painting them with rustolum .

Ahhhh mine is a 2017/18 - very different. Look up the thread a bit and you'll see the difference.
Wow what a difference !
Don’t fix if it’s not broken comes in here don’t it, mine are lovely

Hi Paul. I also have a Autograph 79 - 4T (67 reg) and recently spotted another issue you may want to have a quick look at. I recently noticed that the clips that secure the skylight right at the front of the van and over the drivers / passengers heads were ALL put on upside down and when closed put significant stress on the swing hinged clips. I thought it didn't look right and I really had to pull the skylight down hard to lock it. I visited Marques at Tewkesbury who confirmed my suspicions and also confirmed that if they weren't turned around the stress would soon crack the skylight. Yours might be fine but the monkey that fitted mine fitted them ALL upside down and I wonder how many others he may have c**ked up? I can provide a photo tomorrow if required :)

Hi Kev. Yeah if you have a photo it would highlight the issue. Thanks.

OK. I'm popping down to the van in the next few days (maybe sooner) and will obtain and post a picture.

Hi Paul, as promised here are a couple of images taken AFTER I turned them around the correct way. Hope this helps.

I have a 2015 and shortly after buying it had the annual hab test carried out and was told a cupboard door was sticking and they offered to fix it for a price of course.i decided to decline and did it myself- the bloody handle was on house down!! Simple fix though ....

Hi, i had the same issue. Hope this helps. I used 240 grit wet and dry paper, rubbed down removing rust, then used car primer spray allowed to dry then painted with car paint, i used matt black but you use whatever collour you like. Worked very well.
