Does anyone know if mains hookup charges the vehicle battery or just the leisure? Just tried to start the AA745 after 6 weeks standing on drive while plugged in but battery is just click clicking. Battery was bought new in June of this year!

Why not buy British? Not all continental vans charge leisure batteries as standard and my British van has covered 35000 in two years with no problems apart from the continental made blinds !Wow, I cant believe that it doesnt so it as standard. I suppose they mainly do caravans do dont know what motorhomers need. Buy British! Not.
They doThis had made me wonder about my own new motorhome. I've previously had the battery master. Anyone know if new dethleffs charge engine battery as well?
I've found an option in User Settings to charge the vehicle battery and it's set to On - ours is a 2016 model, does that make a difference? As a Bailey dealer I will confirm that that model year won't.
Like the guys have suggested, give Vanbitz a call and get a battery master fitted.
You can connect a mains-powered smart charger direct to the leisure battery, without having to disconnect any of the other charging devices. They all have diodes (electrical one-way valves) that stop any back-feeding of electric current. Can you charge a Leisure battery with a battery charger? MH been left for 6 weeks and solar hasn't kept battery up(not enough sun I suspect) any answers welcome.
Depends on the charger, and the battery. I have a CeTek. which will charge and maintain batteries. In use for my Classic Car. It does however (being a first generation one) state that it ONLY charges Lead Acid Batteries. If like a lot of Motorhomes your house batteries are GEL you will need to source one which is specific. Can you charge a Leisure battery with a battery charger? Totally in agreement with this. However if you're stuck in a situation with a flat battery and only a standard lead-acid charger, I think it's better to put it on charge. The standard charger will bring it up to at least 80%, then stop. That's better than leaving it flat for a long time, while you get hold of a charger with the correct profile.Depends on the charger, and the battery.
