Hi all
Has anyone stayed at Ayr Holiday Park St.Ives,
I was going to say recently but with Covid-19 and lockdown think I will say in the last few years.Booked for September this year just wondering if there’s any narrow country lanes and roads to look out for.

Cheers Wayne&Lisa

Know it well. As long as you don't cone through st Ives the roads are OK. I used to take a caravsn to the rugby club just up the road every year. Around the site the roads a little narrower but not single track or anything (A MINBUS goes up and down everyday in the summer) just make sure you don't go through the town that is one way and very narrow!

Stayed there years ago when I had my T4 camper, fantastic spot, walk down into town, hike back up, but very expensive. (y)

Coming from Birmingham on M5 so hopefully don’t have to touch town

As has been said above - a lovely site though expensive. We stayed there a couple of times some years ago. Roads to it shouldn't be a problem if you avoid going through the town. instant access to the wonderful coast path. Some roads in Cornwall are pretty narrow.

We stay there a couple of times a year off season when other sites are closed. Like has been said, avoid st ives centre and come at it from opposite side. Don’t plan on using your awning as it’s windy most of the time. Expensive but accessible to the centre with a good walk back up the hill........reminder to myself, they owe me £75 for a cancellation at Xmas.

If you are self sufficient you can stay at the Rugby club.

No views from there but views only a short walk away 😊

As said, anything bigger than Sprinter you’ll start to struggle going through the town/outskirts

Thanks all
I think I’m sorted avoid st Ives town, make sure I’ve got a pressie to sweeten up grumpy owner 😂 and finally make sure I’ve got plenty of marching juice inside me for walk back up the hill 🍺🍺👍
And don’t go in peak season. (y)

Middle of September still seeing it being busy with everyone being banged up for the last 18 months, but needs must 😊

Stayed there a few times be aware on some pitches you will need large levelling wedges as quite steep.
They have their own timber ramps on most hard standing uneven pitches, nicely stepped but heavy! Nice touch.

And of course during summit ? Might be a few security issues ?
G7 Summit at Carbis Bay/St Ives

Don't go within 50 miles of West Cornwall !

(Although I'd pay to see what the driver of 'The Beast', the US Presidential stretch Limo, makes of the Cornish Roads!
The CIA must be having sleepless nights about extraction points between Carbis Bay and the only airport at Newquay!)

I remember last time the beast came over it had to fill up at a local garage 😂 , is that where the security fence starts 50 mls from west Cornwall 😂 , mind you Cornwall council are happy it’s on going to bring in much needed cash !

Easily done ! I have done it with a beaver tail truck 4D1F8574-C9E2-4D53-8CEF-062C6E4A70BD.jpegalso seen it done with low loader luckily hydraulics lifted tailed !
