I picked up my first camper van on Monday 16th May 2022
Hi - I have recently got a Fiat Scudo Campervan - there is no track rail for an awning. Are the magnetic ones any good or how should I put the track on - I bought one that required screwing it in to the metal but thought that wasn’t a good thing to do, so took it back. I also have a Riversway Mobil-240 awning but one of the Fibreglass poles has split. A replacement pole (the while thing with the elastic string) is coming in at £50 but there are universal ones for around a tenner - but not sure if they would be compatible. Any views gratefully received. Thanks

Most fibreglass poles can be sawn to length, so it's a pretty straightforward job to undo the elastic, take out the broken bit and fittings and put in a new length of the same diameter - plenty of Youtube videos to watch 😉 £10?

I used double-sided tape to attach lengths of C-channel to the underside of my wind-out awning;
