Hi
I am looking to buy a small awning for my VWt4
one that i can put up single handed looking at
Movelite square or khyam drive away
anyone out there tried either of these

We bought a Khyam Motordome Excelsior in August 2006 and have found it to be excellent. Recently decided we would like a smaller porch awning for weekends so got a Panorama XL on eBay which we tried for the first time at Newark this weekend.

Of the two the Khyam is definitely the easier to erect and take down, especially if you will be doing it single handed.

There's also a cheap, effective solution which also saves weight.

Buy 1) a large, collapsing parasol, which covers a table and couple of chairs. They're pretty cheap in France.

2) one or two windbreaks, and you can splash out on those with 'windows at the top.

3) a very small tent that you leave on site to help define it as your own, and where you can put a couple of bikes, plus parasol, chairs etc when you're out of camp. Ours was an Outhouse-XL from JR Leisure (www. outdoor-revolution.com)

I agree with Graham (GJH) regarding the Khyam Motordome, very easy to erect and pack away single handed. Gives a good internal space as well being 3m x 3m. We lashed 2 together at the Funster meet at West Mersea last year and there was ample room for 12+ people inside.
