Brand new. Had the van since 2021
I’m at Fontygary and due to leave in an hour !! My awning, an Omnistor 5002 is stuck out and the gear mech seems to be sticking, anyone got tips to get it in so we can move off the site

Can you get someone to give it a push in whilst your winding it in,seems odd that the gears are stripped only at one point ,there cant be that many teeth on the gearing.
Yes fully out and then back in, it gets to a certain point then it sounds like the gears are stripped, it had no issues coming out ?

Solution
I had this a few years ago and had to manually push it back, bundle up the loose material, and put a couple of cam buckle type lashing straps around the whole housing

Tried lifting it and lowering it and pushing it in, do the legs have to be stowed for it to go in ?

It’s fully extended and goes in about 8 inches before it sounds like the gearing is slipping

Electric or manual?
If electric I had similar problem while in the lakes. I had to climb on the roof, through the roof light. Hold the material while winding in with motor, the mechanism caught up and eventually wound in.

Normally you would wind the awning halfway in or thereabouts and then stow the legs away. The legs are independent of any winding mechanism so would not stop any winding in action..

Do you have a manual wind in hole at the end some where,
Our electric awning has.
A 3/4” square ratchet does the trick.
