Does anyone have any advice/ experience on fitting an awning rail to a Bailey, the Alutech sort?
Is there any way of attaching to structural members (where are they?) or it is just a case of self tapping screws and adhesive/mastic?

We had an awning rail on our last MotorHome. Elddis so the “solid” construction. Was just stuck on with adhesive, sorry don’t know which as done by dealer. No screws or other fixings. No problems in the years we had it. Survived using a heavy duty awning all winter in Spain for 3 years running. Had same fitted to our new van as we don’t like the Fiamma type.

Mine is stuck on with 3M VHB tape. If stuck on correctly it will rip the side of the van off before it comes off.

Isn't it just stuck to the paint?

Stuck to the Alu-Tech body.

Ours is just stuck on to with Sikaflex - has supported our tarp in wind, rain and snow and is still solid as a rock. No need for screws.
