Hi all,we currently use our wind out awning and if bad weather or long stays put the privacy awning on in this country but i find it bulky and hard work,In France bigger pitches put the wind out awning out and pop up gazebo,Not keen on awnings as remeber hanging onto them in the middle of the night on my vw's and the flaping,But they give you that little bit more space 5 of us and a dog, so the question is do i stay with my privacy room or go for an awning ? cheers for any info.

We’ve used our wind out awning with a safari room. Weighed a ton and took loads of storage space.
Sold that and bought an inflatable awning.
Good, but weighs about 30kg and cones in a big bulky bag. Good in strong winds as it flexes.
We’ve used our wind out awning with a sun canopy - good when no wind.
This week we’re using a Coleman Event Shelter. It’s dome shaped and they come in different sizes.
We have side panels with windows and doors.
It’s solid in poor weather and packs into a hold-all and is fairly light on the payload.
After trying most things, this is the option I’d recommend- especially if you’ve got a big pitch

Have a look at Quest screenhouse, takes ten minutes to put up.
We recently acquired one and love it.

I've got a quest pop up they are great but 5 of us struggle to get in there,we just need a bit more space when the bad weather comes in which is most of the time in our summers :giggle:

We use a Vango drive away air awning. I can put it up in about 10 mins now . Only problem is you do need to unpack them and dry them out if put away wet . They are great to have but do require some extra effort .

This is the height inside. Also May give you an idea of floor space as the table is 4x3ft

Since 2016 and caravanning before that
We tend to use the roll out as a sunshade and the Quest for storage. Which isn't much help I guess
