Recommendations please for "room/enclosed" awning that is quick to put up, doesn't require a lot of pegging (there will be snow/ice) and can withstand inclement weather! (freezing temperartures/lots of snow!)
We are off on our usual skiing trip, with 2 extra adults this season, and thought a room awning may be nice for additional paraphernalia that comes from skiing - we are staying on campsite in Austria, not aires
We have a large A class with omnistor pullout awning and additional Thule "sunstopper" panel when in the mountains in summer and sun is low, but obviously won't cut the mustard for this use, however ideally something we can adopt for our summer jaunts also
looking forward to suggestions as heading for the NEC at end of month to purchase

Inflatable? No real personal experience but would probably fit the bill.

Omnistore manual says
Installation must b e carried out by a qualified person.
- Check if you have a solid back ground for installation of the adapters of the awning. Fixation must be carried out by bolts and nuts and counterplate and by preference also glued with SIKA 252. Contact your dealer or manufacturer of the vehicle. Before drilling, be sure that there is no obstacle at the inside (for example electric cables, gas pipes and so on).
- The adapters must support the awning at the awnings spring arms for a correct and stable mounting. When this is not possible use a full length adapter.
- In order to get a watertight installation, use acid free silicone or SIKA 252 to fill up the drilled holes.
- For the mounting height of the bottom mounting brackets ask your dealer or manufacturer.
- An awning is a sun and not an all-weather protection. The awning should be closed in case of storm, snow or heavy rain fall (avoid formation of a water pocket).

completely agree, which is why I am looking for an alternative to the wind out we have, which always gets closed in snow storms! As requested in OP our present set up
obviously won't cut the mustard for this use

Perhaps @TerryL suggestion of inflatable may do but looking for advice

A lot on here swear by the quest pop up gazebos. The 4 side one seems most popular but the 6 sided one might be better for all the stuff you might need to store. Easy to put up and you can get additional curtains. Robert dyas often do special prices so might be worth considering

They are very good but I wouldn't really want to use them in windy snowy conditions though as they won't take the weight of snow on the roof very well!

Thule do the 'Quick Fit' enclosure that 'hangs' below the wind out awning so more protection for the attached awning itself as it has a 'second roof' and probably more rigid than a windout with sides only. We bought one once and they are very, very well made but unfortunately our awning, a Fiamma, didn't have the necessary channel at the rear that the Omnistor/Thule ones do.

Not sure what size you'd need but there's a few on ebay, eg:
