I had a avtex tv nearly five years old failed on me last weekend, so rang up Avtex and spoke to their engineer. He said he would arrange for it to be collected that day and he would have a look and see what the problem was. He rang me the following afternoon to say it would cost approx £140 to repair, but if i preferred to replace with a brand new one with built in sat receiver i could buy direct from them for £279. New TV arrived yesterday. Great service.

Tbf, and after having an Avtex, I think it's really over priced. My brand new bigger TV from Aldi was £140.00 and guaranteed and works all over Europe unlike my then 2 year old Avtex that was useless when France went all HD

That's a really nice way to treat existing customers, especially in an age where most companies treat customers like something they've just trod in.

I like Avtex, when I had a problem with our tv it was collected, repaired and delivered back within four days.

One of a very few companies I've never heard a bad thing said about...in terms of their customer care..
And my own experience of their customer service mirrors the op's experience...

Well I've heard a few. My 2 year old Avtex was useless in France and they were very nonplussed about it. Quite offhand ish and after dealing with customer services, I decided not to buy another Avtex

If it was only 2 years old, did you send it back, they come with a 3 year warrenty and pay the courier expenses. Ive been in France and tuned mine to french tv no problem.

Yes, it was exactly 2 years old but it wasn't faulty per se, it was that France had changed to HD so therefore wouldn't work there and they weren't interested and just glibly said, 'yes, yours is one of the models affected. You'll have to buy another one. I did, from Aldi. Bigger, nicer, easier to tune in, fully HD and less than 1/2 the price and a 5 year guarantee

I am very pleased with my Avtex and when I phoned them for advice they were very helpful. I previously had a cheap tv which was reliable but had dreadful viewing angles, only one person at a time could see it properly.

Yes ours also went faulty whilst we were on a rally in Cornwall last year and Avtex collected it from the campsite and returned it fully repaired within 4 working days .

I'm extremely pleased for those people who received good and excellent service and had they not been so 'couldn't give a feck' attitude, then I'd have bought another but it was their attitude that made up my mind. In fact, I bought 2 from Aldi. One for the Moho and the other for the home.

In my view they have great customer service but not a particularly good product that breaks often.

There is a reason why their repair operation is so slick.

I think Avtex is brilliant quality with exceptional picture quality. There are cheaper but the ones I’ve seen have been middling to junk. Quality costs .

I think their after service is second to none. Might be a bit dearer but at least you know your getting good service. Similar can be said for @Addie motorhomewifi.

I think a lot of people buy Avtex thinking because they're expensive then they're top quality but this replacement one is better than my Avtex ever was

They are good in terms of picture but not reliability. I have had two and both packed up within 2 years. Not sure that equals quality.
