Hi All,

I have an old Avtex W164 tv in our motorhome, which is connected to a MaxDome twin satellite. The problem we have been having is that even when the satellite is locked on to a signal, it can take some time before we get a picture on the tv screen. More frustratingly, if we turn the tv off (but leave the satellite on), it again will take an age for us to get the picture back. I have changed the cable between the decoder and tv, with little effect and even adjusted the tv DiSEqC settings, which help more with the satellite, but have done little in getting the picture on the tv any quicker?

Whilst at Clubfest a few weeks ago, one of the guys on the Falcon stand, said it sounded like the TV needed an update, but I have contacted Avtex without any joy, but as the TV is over 9 years old, they probably don't support them anymore?

Has anyone else experienced these sort of issues, and if so, did you get them resolved?

I'm feeling like it might be a new tv, but I don't want to got to the expense if there is another possible issue not connected to the TV.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Wouldn’t happen to have valves that need warming up ?
