Avtex Tv faults...Dvd issues? (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys..


Just took on a new 20 inch Avtex tv/dvd/sat television. Can I get the dvd player to see dvd's? No!
I have looked at previous threads regarding codes etc and regions etc and ours seems to be set in accordance to the info available off here. That being region free ...O setting and Divx set to on.
Even the Demo disc does not get seen ? Anything I am missing or not doing before it gets thrown back at the dealers please?
Is there nothing that we can buy nowadays , that will work out of the box?

Sounds daft but are you putting the DVD in the correct way. I have put mine in back to front a few times. Just a suggestion.

I don’t have a high opinion of Avtex tv’s.

Everyone will pipe up and say they have great customer service, which is true, but it’s because they have so many faults to deal with they are well practised.

Bless...Thanks but yes we are. Just decided to update and get the satellite version . Just does not see the dvd at all?

I would ring customer services if I were you.

They will have that tv swapped in days, even hours.

Yes it does. Seems to go through the check and then throws it back?

Guess it must be faulty then because that is the usual response when a disk is inserted the wrong way round. Guess it can’t read anything on a disk. Yes, as Chris above says, call customer service. Best of luck.

Is there another dvd in the slot?
Have you selected the dvd option on the source?

Update.............Ta daaahhhhhh !

Brand new Avtex 9 series Pro model fitted today from Go European (Where we had the truck from) no hesitation. Absolutely gob smacked!
Chuffed to bits though too!

There seem to be far fewer problems with their older TVs.
We own two & they are flawless.
