Just trying to do software and map updates on my newish Garmin Avtex Tourer One CMC version.
Garmin Express software has advised me on the laptop that there were updates available for it, so I connected it to my very fast Gaming laptop USB port.
I was then advised that the update will take 31 minutes, and not to unplug the device while its performing the updates...fair enough I thought.
Its sat there plugged in just now, and according to the download bar, its going to take 3 hours 22 minutes at 885KB/s well it been going half an hour now and its telling me its only downloaded 5%!!!.
This must be the slowest download app I have ever come across, even though I am on a fast virgin Media Fibre Broadband connection.
Do any of you guys experience the same wait? Is it their servers causing the slow speed download?

Yawn, Bloody Yawn.

I’ve certainly found, like you, that the actual update time often bears little or no resemblance to how long it says it will take!

When I updated mine it took a long time but I thought that was due to doing it using WiFi and not a very strong sig on the mifi, also it seemed to use a lot of data but it worked ok.
