I'm an oldbie MH number 10
Has anyone got in use an Avtex soundbar?

My Avtex TV isn't great sound wise and obviously as Haggers is ether getting on a bit or got waxed up ears I don't hear it so well or maybe its' the size of my "road chalet?"
either way, I need to make it louder. So would anyone give me a little review of the Avtex soundbar before I go and spend the £149 on one?

cheers

Yep we got one... does increase volume level but also much better sound quality..

I brought one last year to connect to the tv in the bedroom as it was too quiet, it connects via coax as connecting via audio jack produces a hissing sound the louder it gets and displays an annoying headphone icon on the screen. Connecting via hdmi does not work on my avtex 21inch tv as its too old. The sound is definitely louder using it and it can go a lot louder than the normal avtex tv's can. All in all it was worth it i think but they are very expensive.

Yes, I have one fitted. It looks neat with the unit connecting to the bottom of the TV. The sound is much improved. The connection can be a bit confusing setting up the options on the TV. It comes with a shortened hdmi connector to the TV and one uses the ARC HDMI connection on the TV. I did try looking for something similar and cheaper when ordering but TBH 12 volt units are limited, and this operates off the TV remote when needed. I would recommend.

£149!!!!! Is it gold plated?

We got ourselves one of these and it is very good.

Inbuilt battery runs for a few hours, Bluetooth enabled and recharges (or permanently connected) via usb.
You can also directly connect a usb stick and play audio tracks (not that user friendly though).

Dad has one and likes it, definitely improves the sound a lot and volume range of course. We use a Bose speaker, a little cheaper and stands on the shelf under our TV which does the job nicely. Hate the tinnie sound of the original Avtex.

We got one for Christmas.Obviously not the cheapest option but integrates nicely and certainly improves sound quality and volume massively.

We had the same issue and got one. It's much clearer and louder. Just check you've got enough room behind the tv because the usb and HDMI connectors stick out a bit when plugged into the back of the sound bar. I had to do some adjustment with the tv bracket and wires, to make sure the tv went back into the bracket securely.

Nice bit of kit, but I'm sure everyone knows 12v stuff isn't cheap. Nothing is if it's designed for a MH.

The Avtex soundbar is really the only choice with an Avtex TV as none of their TV's benefit from bluetooth.

Should have mentioned, I've a right angle HDMI connector to tidy up the cabling at the back that goes into the soundbar.

Bought one last year and used a few times , big improvement on the built-in speakers. Not the most logical set up and needs a short USB lead to power. Our TV is mounted on a sliding plate that stores the tv behind a wall cupboard. Very tidy arrangement but not enough room to attach the soundbar so it sits on top of the cupboard. Adequate sound on volume 2 or 3.

My cheap soundbar sits on top of the tv (Velcro strips) - this is the wiring at the back……

Had one for over a year now. We bought it because the boss is losing her hearing and has aids. She says the sound is much easier to hear so no subtitles 👍 to me it’s a more rounded sound. Only problem (not really) is that to control the TV I need to hold the hand control to the side. I think the sound bar blocks the line of control.
It’s a bit over priced but in my opinion worth it

Cheers, I am going to measure in a bit. But thanks to this thread, someone has pointed out that if I fit it, it may not fit in to the TV recess in my Flair. Which would then make it pretty pointless as the whole idea of going for the more expensive avtex was the fitting to the TV, this one might make more sense as I could bring it out when watching the TV

The Avtex soundbar is really the only choice with an Avtex TV as none of their TV's benefit from bluetooth.
I use an old JBL charge 3 (plugs in to the headphone jack on the Avtex).
Its TINY, portable, waterproof and sounds really good. Think I only paid about £70 when i got mine.
And its rechargable so no need to find somewhere to power it from, but can also be used when charging too.

Also, its bluetooth too, so I can use it when watching movies on my laptop/tablet or listening to streamed music outside tethered to my phone.

Great bit of kit!
I had an expensive Harmon Kardon with satellite sub, it was too big, too heavy and had no where to stow it so I gave it away and only use the JBL now.

We added one to ours and very happy with it, it has a blue tooth function and use an iPod Touch to play music, clearly as others have pointed out there are alternatives but it seats neatly below the TV and all looks part of the same unit.

We have a 21" avtex tv with the avtex soundbar, brilliant picture and fabulous sound quality, is it expensive YES but we have it all mounted so when we want to use it it drops down out of the cupboard so very discreet.

Thinking of buying an Avtex soundbar. My Avtex TV is fitted into a swing-down bracket in the cab. The bracket encloses the TV so no access to the mounting and I'd have to sit the soundbar elsewhere. Can the Avtex soundbar be powered from the powered 12V USB socket on the TV?
