Interested if anyone is using an Avtex tv with an Avtex soundbar and a Sky+ satellite box and what results they are getting.
I have the above set up as I have just purchased the soundbar, I have the Sky box connected to the HDMI 1 on tv and the soundbar connected to HDMI arc on tv.
When I switch on the tv ( with HDMI selected in the source menu) the sound from the tv comes on but after a couple of seconds when the soundbar kicks into life the sound goes off and to get it back I have to turn off the power to the soundbar ( making it a bit of a waste of space), there is another way I have found and that is when the soundbar kicks in and the sound goes off I can go into the source menu and select another source ie digital tv , then if I switch back to HDMI 1 the sound comes back on through the soundbar and all is fine till the tv is put in standby or switched off , when I switch it back on it reverts to the sound going off when the soundbar kicks in ,
Spoke to Avtex and the guy got me to check various settings on the tv and told me to turn off the dolby sound in the Sky+ menu, he said soundbars don't work with dolby ( works fine with my Panasonic Tv and soundbar in the house), anyway it made no difference . after much complaining that it was not acceptable to keep change the source menu every time I turn the tv on and off, he went away and spoke to someone who said they would collect the soundbar and the tv and check it out with a skybox at there workshop, that was at 10.45 this morning at 12.35 TNT collected them both .
I wait in anticipation
