Hi funsters I bought an Avtex TV via Fleabay (y)

But I didn't read the listing  and I now need a power lead!

It's the four pin type (TV model W164DR)

So if someone has either a mains or 12/24v lead in a drawer that they don't use I'd be happy to buy it from them.

Try Avtex, they seem good people to talk to.

If you are using it in the MH use the 12v all the time then you do not have the transformer from the 240v lying around feeding to the TV. So when you are on EHU the batteries are being recharged and obviously when wilding you have the 12v. Been using mine for 6 years like that. Hope that helps.

I got a 12 volt lead for my tv from the same place you got your tv, can't remember how much it was but not a lot :)

And thats the reason why Sidney got a tv without a lead.

I'm pretty sure all TV's use the same 12V plug, so just buy a 12v TV power supply from ebay.
I looked at getting one for our old telly, just before I dropped it whilst installing it in the van, so ended up buying a new telly anyway! :D

Unfortunately they dont.

Many use a standard 'barrel' plug....i forget the name but a tube within a tube.

But others use different ones.

Hi Danielford I read your comment with interest I want to swap my alphatronics tv for an avtex but the mains plug is different to the avtex how do I adapt the plugs in your photos you have three plugs shown I have the middle one which is for my alphatronics tv and I have the bottom plug which is for my avtex how do i fit the alphatronis plug into the avtex plug is that possible??
regards JOE

Please, please call Avtex directly and get one from them. DO NOT get an alternative unbranded one from else where be it a shop or online auction site. I bought a 12v lead from a well know online auction site. The first time I plugged it in, it overheated and started to melt. Fortunately the awful smell of melting plastic alerted me, and I removed it before it started a fire

Afterwards I spoke to Avtex and they supplied their own lead at a comparable price and their service is excellent.

I bought one from Avtex not very expensive?

I second the suggestion of using your Avtex TV on 12v off the leisure battery,
I bought our new power lead from eBay & its been trouble free.

If anyone needs to know I had reason to test an Avtex power lead recently (it wasn't faulty - just its owner thought it was) and in the process discovered that the pin-out is all four pins +ve and the outer tube -ve.

The original post is years old, but if anyone today is in need of an Avtex power lead, I'm pretty sure we've got one in the shed. In fact we've probably got just about every kind in there -- centronics printer cable anyone? Perhaps exaggerating a bit, but it certainly looks that way.

Having thrown out the mains cable by mistake I ordered a new one from Avtex no problem service excellent but cost me £30 it will teach me a lesson to check before throwing things out
