Having travelled across Europe in our Autocruise Stardream with 2 dogs I have decided that a better configuration for us would be a single fixed bed layout with a lounge area behind the cab. I particularly like the Autotrail Cheyenne 740 SE and have been searching the internet for a newish one for sale. However, apart from one for sale at John's Cross which is a 2010, all the others I see are 2008. So, the question is what did Autotrail replace the Cheyenne 740 SE with? And why can I only find one registered in 2010?

Thanks.

Dakota is very similar but has a roomier lounge making it easier to live with  we looked at the entire model range before deciding on our current van a Mohawk but its a very personal choice.:thumb:

Hi Peter,
Brand new is too expensive for us. But could you tell me why I can't find another 2010 Cheyenne - all I can find are 2008 models.

Is it not that the Cheyenne range was pulled late 2008 and any registered later were unsold examples sitting on forecourts. Check the Auto Trail UK website and download the (free) catalogues for those years. :thumb:

I,m on a very slow mobile download or would do it myself out of curiosity::bigsmile:

We're looking at Autotrails at the moment, we like the Chieftain because of the space and layout, but ruled it out because we think the length might cause us problems.
So we've narrowed it down to either a Cheyenne 740SE or the 696GSE (2008).
I've looked at so many on the internet that I'm going on Mastermind's next series with "motorhome layouts" as my specialist subject::bigsmile:

I've only just found this thread (bit of a slow reader ).

The Cheyenne was relaunched in 2007/8 in upgraded form see: Link Removed

Most have 2 facing settees but a few, owned by discerning people like us , have two forward facing seats with full seatbelts. So four people can travel safely to match the number of berths (4 on a low profile).

I suspect that there are not many for sale because owners love them so much! Having said that, if you can wait, ours will be up for sale after the summer and it has lots of extras :thumb:

Aaarrgghhh! Dilemma, dilemma!

We're going down south on Sunday, we've arranged to look at a Dakota, the dealer is holding it for us pending our "inspection". We have looked at all of the Autotrails now, the favourite one is the Chieftain 840SE but as mentioned before on another thread Margaret thinks it's just too long and would cause us problems:Doh:
So we've narrowed it down to the Dakota and the Cheyenne 740, but behind all good men there is a good woman and we need to keep them happy!!!
So whatever we get, must have two side-facing settees, a large fridge, separate shower, ample worktop space, some external storage for keeping ramps, cables etc.
Autotrails with exactly what we're looking for seem to be in short supply, but we are now comitted to going south now and hopefully this one will be fine when we see it in the flesh.

It's a long down if this van doesn't tick all the boxes and it's so difficult for us being located where we are so far north.
It's true, but women are so much more difficult to please than us mere men:roflmto::roflmto:

Hi Bill, you travelled South, we travelled 5hrs North to get our Autotrail 740, so few of them about, lost out on a couple nearer to us. Still we pick up our new to us van in 2 weeks so another trip north but this is definitely (has to be) the right one, its our third go at getting it right and it has everything we are after, comfy lounge area with the sofas, large fridge, single beds and rear bathroom, cant wait. Did you buy your new van?

We eventually decided to go for the Dakota in the end. I just couldn't convince Margaret that the extra length on the Chieftain wouldn't be a problem:Doh:
Collecting it middle of this month and looking forward to that...........still love the Chieftain though...........:thumb:
