We are thinking about downsizing from our current small coachbuilt (Marquis Majestic sub 6 metre) to panel van conversion.

our first Motorhome was a VW Autosleeper Topaz so we know the issues camping in a smaller van can bring, as well as the advantages - I always felt more of a ‘camper’ in the Topaz with the door wide open on sunny days.

Are considering the AS symbol and the AS Air, which as a pop-top would be a new experience for us.

There is at least one YouTube review of the Air but has anyone seen one ’in the flesh’ and what were your impressions.

Not wanting to turn this thread into a toilet one but is there room to have the Portapotty in the van for emergency use at nighttime?

Thanks

We have had a couple of small vans including a Fiat Amigo that was so small we had to go outside to make up the bed. We also had a Mazda Bongo with that we slept in the roof tent so we had the toilet on the floor downstairs. On the odd occasion when it was too windy to have the roof up then there was no room for the toilet when the bed was out. That was one of the reasons we changed to a PVC.

Peterborough show starts 22nd. Might be worth checking if any dealers will have one on show if you could get there...

We were the same with the Topaz. It was definitely a case of one bed maker and one outside doing the dog walk.😉. Don’t think I could manage a roof bed with my knees though.

Not possible I’m afraid as we have a funeral to arrange but thanks for the suggestion.

It shows it as having the Dometic portapotti on this page of website, looks a nice interior.

I had a 6M Marquis 125 before the current Carthago. The Marquis footprint is barely different to a PVC for the cost of a lot less space, not to mention the cost to change.
