I am a Newbie to motorhomes but have caravaned for years
We have a 1998 Autotrail Cheyenne 634 with U shaped lounge at the back and love the layout but have seen an Autocruise Gleneagle ( 2008) with very long seats at the front and quite liked the layout. It would be about 4 feet longer than our van . We are not bothered so much about entering towns to park so do not see the extra length as a problem and like the extra space.
It has Alde central heating which I presume is gas/electric and a 3 litre engine.
Does anyone out there own one who could give us the lowdown about owning this van, what to look for , likely economy( or lack of it) insurance, the extra weight and so on.
It is up at a good price due to a bereavement so we are tempted.

We have a 2010 Autocruise Augusta which also has the 3.0L engine and Alde heating. Having owned this m/h from new we are still very happy with it and I don't find the length any problem, it returns around 28/29 mpg.

As you rightly say the Alde system can be run off lpg or mains electric and is very efficient and controllable but is not instant heat.
