Hi Funster

New Imala, when leaving the locked M/H via the habitation door (manually opened from the inside) found it automatically re-locking itself before I'd stepped off the pitch! fortunately OH was in the van and able to let me back in.

Dealer advised if I immediately open a cab door it would not do this, Ok! but have decided I do not like this feature and would like to disable it. Have found some info. on how to do this on a CAMC site, which suggests using settings in the infotainment centre. I guess this may be the right approach as I've downloaded the Fiat handbook and ploughed my way through 330 pages and not found any mention of locking other than central.

Have any other Funsters experienced this, disliked it like me and managed to disable it? if so a guide of how you did it would be appreciated.

Here's a thread on the same subject from a few months back which will be worth you reading through.

The Auto locking on new Fiats is a pain, having already had keys locked in, fortunately outside the house where I had the spare set to unlock. Doesn't appear to be anyway to disable it from my research here and elsewhere. To mitigate against this occurance I have had the key blade which is incorporated into the fob copied into a key, in fact several, which I keep in my pocket at all times and one secreted outside the vehicle, so at least I can get into the auto locked vehicle to retrieve the main keys. At a tenner a pop it's money well spent for the grief it would cause without.

I find this strange dash as my 22 Ducato pvc, like yours, only auto locks if I don’t open one of the doors at all if I’m outside. If I’m inside and go out then the doors been opened so keeps unlocked. I’ve tested it with the side door and think I also checked it with the rear doors. So if that’s how mine works how can you lock your keys inside? Surely it can’t be an Adria or Rapido thing.

I can understand it on a coach built if the hab door is not linked in fully.

Is it not the same?
I'm confused ---- but it's not hard
No, one is only auto locking when your van reaches 12mph, but the OP's and other's problem is auto locking if you do not exit via normally the cab door within 30 seconds when stationary on the newest vans

Most vehicles these days will re lock the doors if you remotely unlock the vehicle and then don’t open a door. As they think you have pressed the remote by accident.
If you go to your hab door and attempt to open it, does it open? If it does then just do that, don‘t unlock the entire vehicle, if all you are using is the hab door.

Thanks for this, well discussed before with no it would appear absolute answer (come on Fiat!).

Have the same issue with my 22 Kontiki, its driving me crazy. On a car if you leave your keys inside it won't auto lock, on this thing it does and no one appears to care... I will pay to have this disabled if only someone can do it. It's not in the settings and I'm on about when It's parked up NOT when you drive off. Mine is the new series 8 Fiat cab, my X290 never did it.
