For anyone with an interest celestial.

There is a new aurora website just launched yesterday. Its from the folks at aurora research Scotland its also on facebook. Its well worth a look and i think it will be a leading site for Scotish alerts and info, they even have a forum !!

not long enough
I have seen the same reports, too far south for us in Derbyshire to hope for much, we spent 10 days chasing faint hopes up as far as Durness in January

Next time maybe

Seen a few posts from local camera club members who live on the coast at Lossiemouth and some stunning shots unfortunately I decided to have a dram and watch the football
The lights started about 7pm and are still going strong I'm told

Bad luck Jan, I have seen reports of sightings on Aurora Watch from Haddington just up the road from Edinburgh, but much darker. Are you there for a while? can you get further north tomorrow?

One day, hey

Just been outside for a look, as we're close to the dark sky of the Galloway Forest and no light pollution around us.

Clear starry sky, can see a much lighter sky looking northwards, but might get a better view if we were higher up from where we are here at sea level:Sad:

Thanks for the link. There have been reports of sighting as far south as Essex. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26378027

But I note the website is a .uk - do they know something Alex Salmond doesn't? But I suppose they will be able to change it to .sco later.
