Evening all
We have been having an issue with the tv/radio audio speakers. Travelling to a site the radio works fine. The tv wiring loom has a jack plug which plugs into the headphone socket on the tv. This gives "surround sound " through the audio speakers. When we drive home the radio lights up but no sound comes from the speakers. The only way of getting the sound to work is to drive over pot holes which makes it crackle then work. The same happens if the jack plug is not plugged into the headphone plug on the TV. I had a sparky round today that found a magic switch that would prioritise the audio input which must be faulty. I have called Brownhills but the part is no longer in supply by Hymer but we are awaiting a response to a enquiry.
It seems to be that the part has been replaced and it could be that it is something that is common to the Hymer group range. There should be a picture of the part, which Google has not helped with.
Any ideas?

I had a call from Brownhills parts department earlier. Hymer have changed te part for another one. When he was about to tell me the price he did warn me to be sitting down. I can be the proud owner of a new switch for £1,005.00.
It is a bit steep even for Hymer. He understood that I did not want to order one.

Has it got any part numbers on the plastic part , that will be a generic part with a hymer sticker on it

It is hard to see as the only access to it is through a drinks holder. I think my next course of action is to get in touch with Caratac.

The fault as described could be dirty / faulty connections to the unit or even dirty relay contacts inside. Fixing it might cost nothing..........

I've had great results on old amplifiers with a can of servisol switch cleaner lubricant and the plastic straw that comes with it .

Obviously I've no experience of squirting it in a motorhome but it's restored many a crackly pot with no effort on my old amps
