Auto-Trail Cheyenne
Hi, I can't work out what the 3-way AV switch is connected to. Autotrail Cheyenne SE 2006. Is any of it for dvd player or music? I've tried plugging stuff into the AV box and rotating the dial but can't work it out. Nothing seems to happen.

Is the Obserview box from an old rear view camera system? The van has a rear view camera video mirror in the cockpit that seems to work independently, i.e. when I unplug stuff from the Obserview box it doesn't seem to affect the rear view screen.

Cheers!

Obserview is an old and defunct system, cant get parts.
It sounds like someone has fitted another system. Also the 3 way switch was part of the original setup early days of digital TV and there would have been a seperate freeview receiver to make that convert to the older analogue TV's..

The status TV amplifier will still be operational and used, however if you have the TV aerial that looks like a flying saucer, it is omni directional and to be honest never very good unless your in a strong singnal area.

I note you now include the year of the van.. (y) That helps a lot..
Add a rough location as well to your profile, that helps when people give other advise.

Thanks! Okay I'll ignore the Obserview and maybe unplug it?

Can I use the 3 way switch in any way to play audio out of the speakers in the habitat area? I can't work out how to get anything out of those speakers yet.

I don't need the TV amplifier so I might turn that off? I think my aerial looks like a rod. But I don't want/need TV at all.

What do you think the black power switch does?

I had a 2005 Apache 700 and it was all same as what you have now. However Its been 10 years so my memory is fading :whistle2:

It could be to power the Omniview system, they used to have infra red lights and it you forgot and left it switched on they would run for 24 hours a day and flatten the battery.

The rear black plastic panel is only 4 screws, if you take it off you will see where they all go and if you want remove the switch and omniview to tidy it all up. I would leave the TV amp in place for future use / buyers.
