Attaching aluminium extrusion to side of motorhome (1 Viewer)

I want to attach a 3m aluminium extrusion to the outside wall of the motorhome.
This is to attach a driveaway awning.
The sidewall is painted aluminium, the extrusion is unpainted.
I have sikaflex 522.
The question is do I screw or not?
How long, extrusion is 1.5mm thick, plus 2mm for Sikaflex bead plus 1mm for the van skin so poss 6mm.
What material stainless?

We used to use a drive away awning with our previous van. It had a J rail fitted but the awning had a tendecy to jump off so I bought a fitted a C section kit, similar to this one. It came with screws and a drill bit of the correct size. If I recall correctly the aluminium extrusion pieces were backed by double sided tape. I certainly screwed it, drilling carefully and then filling the holes with clear sealant before screwing the pieces on.

Ouy 2001 Hymer has an awning rail fitted to the side , don’t know it was bond but it definitely has self tappers every 230mm, top and bottom holding it.

I eventually decided on both Sikaflex and self tapping screws. We will wait 48 hours before using.

The very last thing I would want to do is make holes in the type of vehicle that is renowned for leaking. This is the very reason I have not fitted solar as I do not want to drill a hole in the roof for the cables.
