Arrived this morning.
After the recommendation of chaser
We take the Chunnel home tomorrow.
Only 2 here when we arrived , full now.
But what a pleasant town , quite impressed.
I even got the parking ticket machine to work and helped another parker get his.
Going to be battered tonight (weatherwise) but otherwise all good.

Think it’s an urban myth about that machine not working, been 3 times and it’s been working every time

We’re cheap skates and go to the free Aire across the water at Grand fort Phillip but you don’t get the nice walk around Gravelines, which isn’t a problem if your only using it for a night stop.

They have online bookings on their website or a heated patio for those unlucky to get a table.

We couldn’t get into restaurant last week either sat or sun!Ended up having great pizza at cafe /bar in square for Sunday lunch and tea ! Great pizza with loads of topping and for less than 10 eurosWife and I couldn’t eat all of them so they put the remainder in a box which we warmed up and had with salad for tea

We are hoping to be there Monday for two days ready for tunnel Wednesday.
Very mixed feelings, love it on the first days of a holiday in France ,then a bit of a damper when it's the last day.
