We are in Aguillas in south east Spain. When here 6 weeks ago I could get , through my sky box, all the sky channels , inc sky sports and sky news,
Now I am able to get cnn , qvc , sky movies, but no sky news or sky sports .
I am logged into Astra 3, can't pick up Astra 2.
Am I doing something daft, or is it Sod's law ?!

You must be on Astra 2 as Sky does not have any channels on Astra 3

You probably need to fine tune!

To be honest it makes no difference what satellite the sat box says it is on - it is the frequencies behind the name that are important.
You could have a satellite called Fred on your box, but you will still pick up whichever channels that are on the satellite that your dish is aligned to.-

So if your box says it is on Astra 3, but you are getting some SKy UK channels on it (cnn , qvc , sky movies) , then what yu have done is scan Astra 3 frequency list, even though your dish is on Astra 2. And as some frequencies are on both Astra 2 and Astra 3, then that is why you are getting some and not all channels.
So swap the receiver list to Astra2, ensure NIT / Network search is on (so it pick up any new active frequencies) , and off it goes.
