We are new members to the forum, so hello. We've been motorhoming for eight years and we are now in Estapona, Costa del Sol and having problems picking up Astra 2. We've an Oyster Vision system and have a Pace 12v Sky box that normally works very well. We've been able to get Sky channels all the way down thro France and down the east coast of Spain, including Malaga this last weekend but can now only receive Astra 1. I've tried changing the frequency, used the dishpointer website for Azimuth / elevation settings but still can't get a good signal, anyone any ideas?

Hi
In that area channels from BBC ITV C4 and Five and a few Sky pay channels are on the UK beam and require a very large satellite dish
But most of the Sky pay channels are on the European beam and can use a smaller dish - over 1m should be fine (there is not much difference between Malaga and Estepona in these signals, but there is enough of a drop out if the dish is not of the correct size)

No idea what you mean by " you have changed the frequency" - the sky default transponder is an always has been 11778 v 27.5 2/3.
Unless you are using another frequency for your dish locator - make sure you are using a good working frequency...quite a lot have changed their FEC in the past few months.

Dishpointer is good for an indication as to where the satellites are, but it is not 100% accurate...and it may be you are not on the correct Astra 2 satellites.
