Probably an area where the footprint doesn't reach. Down around Valencia most get it & around Calpe/Oliva/ Xavia. Here where I am I cannot receive itat home witha 1,9m dish.

You should still be able to receive the channels on the European beam of Astra 2E (eg Sky News, Pick, most Sky pay channels), as that beams footprint is much easier to receive than the UK beam footprint (that carries channels like BBC ITV C4 and Five). In Costa Brava, Roses area you will be needing about a 1.8 / 2.4m dish for the UK beam channels.

If your dish "keeps rotating", then it is looking for a frequency that the dish is too small to receive...so get it to look for a European beam frequency (Sky new on 12207 v SR 27500 FEC 5/6 )

The footprint map posted above is the "theoretical" dish size map from SES Astra for the UK beam. It is not an actual reception map. Nor does it show the Eurobeam beam. The footprint actually extends all the way down to the Canary Islands, but how the "waves" inside the beams behave determines the size of dish requried. A well aligned 80cm dish in the Valencia area can just about receive BBC ITV C4 and Fives.

Hi Satandpcguy
Thank you for your advice. We have changed the frequency to 12207 v SR 27500 fec 6 and we have locked on to Astra 2. So we have retuned the tv and have pulled in channels but they are all Arabic channels. Any sugesstion on how to get any in English? Thank you

Simple : you have not locked onto Astra 2 at 28 east
You are probably on 26 east...which serves the Middle East and North Africa - or may be Hotbird at 13 east...?
Frequencies are not exclusive to just one satellite, so you have locked onto another group of satellite with a similar frequency.
If you were on the correct satellite you would have Sky News (UK) and Pick TV - there are no arabic channels on 12207 on the UK TV satellites

We have been in L'Estartit for the last fortnight and not one GB registered van had their dish up. All have tried, non have succeeded, most with 85cm dishes. Nearly all the Europeans have their dishes up, some as small as 60cm.
