For all of you that would have gone to the Lyndon Top Site at Rutland, You would have met Arthur, who looked after the site along with Maddie his wife.
He has unfortunately Passed away on Sunday after a long illness that he never mentioned.
I give Maddie my sincere condolences, and also those of the larger Motor-homing, and caravaning Fraternity, that frequented the site over the years.

I know he hadn't been well. When we were there at the last bank holiday, Richards son was helping out. He hadn't been right since being in hospital last autumn.
RIP Arthur, you will be missed.

RIP Arthur.
We were there last week, left on Sunday, when we arrived his wife told us he was very ill with cancer. We thought something was wrong when we went Easter and he was wearing a bobble hat and no sign of his normal black hair.
What nice man, always had a smile.

We will all miss Arthur, he was one of a kind.
No-one knew just how bad he was, he kept it to himself, was diagnosed with terminal C last August, apparently had loads of a radiation & Chemo but carried on mowing even whilst being sick with the Chemo etc.
I for one will miss the lovely way he always treated the ladies-with a kiss!
RiP Arthur, at least he's free now!

Very sad to hear this news. As you say, greeted the ladies with a kiss (and we hadn't even been introduced!) A lovely man and very helpful every time we went to Lyndon Top. RIP Arthur.
We would like to pass on our condolences to Maddie.

Very sad news indeed. Knew that he was unwell. As has been said a lovely helpful man. Visit Lyndon Top a couple of times a year and got to know him quite well.

He is going to have a woodland burial in a willow casket and placed in a meadow. He kept all the details to himself and Maddie only a few knew about his passing. A tree to be planted in his name.
I am calling in this evening to pay personal condolences to Maddie.

Lyndon Top will not be the same without Arthur, a countryman who loved his job. Lyndon Top and Arthur evolved together, both growing in popularity and for equally good reasons. Rest in peace Arthur you will be greatly missed as well as fondly remembered by so many. Janie, Bob & Izzy

@GWAYGWAY Please pass on our condolences, not visited for a couple of years but kindly thought of.

@flatpackchicken @Sundowners very sad.

Read that Arthur had the big C on RVOC the other day, couldn't believe it, knocked the wind out of our sails. He was one of the best, won't be the same without him. Keep the grasses cut up there in heaven for when it is our time. RIP Arthur from both Nigel and Pamala

I wonder if you could possibly print out this thread & hand it to Maddie when you see her. Perhaps not now but it might give her some comfort that he was so highly thought of & appreciated by so many of us...
