We have a ferry booked for 12 tomorrow, if we arrive before the previous ferry has left will be allowed in or will they turn us away?

Most often they let you in or offer you the current ferry if timing permits and not full.

If you have a flexi ticket you can board earlier ferry. In any event on arrival at the port you will be allocated the appropriate lane for your ship. (there are 300) All vehicles are grouped together in appropriate lanes.

I trust you have booked with P & O.
DFDS are still suffering from Union activity at Calais. Dunkirk is mainly unaffected.

Normally it is more likely that you would be offered an earlier ferry, but with the current situation they may not have space.

We have been lucky and given an earlier ferry with no extra charge but last time we were in company and both pulled up in opposite booths, mine said we could go on the earlier crossing but we would have to pay £20 so I said no thanks, we were given a boarding pass and lane number.

My mate was asked if he would like to go on the earlier ferry no extra charge and of course accepted thinking we had the same offer, he was sent to a different waiting area. It turned out the ferries were running 40 minutes latea nd his ferry sailed 20 minutes before ourswhich turned

We have turned up early before and had a couple of hours in a lane. It's good chilling time but very frustrating when you're used to the train

Travelled back from Dunkirk two weeks ago, was offered an earlier ferry but it was 3am at the time! There is a large free car park within the port just before the ticket office where you can wait until you are ready to proceed, if you are returning from Dunkirk as well.

Thanks everyone, we arrived a little early but no offer of the early one. So sitting trying to work where the beam benders are meant to be and hoping the rain stops :)
