For some of the best views in South Lakes, fishing from the beach / pier, lovely walks over Arnside Knott, close to Silverdale AONB with walks around woodland / limestone pavement at Eaves Wood / Gait Barrows. Also 10mins drive from RSPB Leighton Moss - one of the best in the UK!

Leave M6 at J35 Carnforth, follow A6 north to Milnthorpe, turn left down B5282 through Sandside to Arnside. Follow Promenade to far end (past the Albion Inn) and on to the cul-de-sac near Ashmeadow House. Lots of MHs overnight here looking over the estuary. Great food at The Albion (also at the Olde Fighting Cocks Inn -our favourite, much better atmosphere and beer!). Proper village bakery with lovely hot pies - just the thing after a walk over Arnside Knott or down the beach to White Creek and New Barns Bay!

ENJOY!

Incidentally, when we are working during the week, we spend most of our weekends walking in the Lakes - so feel free to contact us for info on places to go / camp / wildcamp! ::bigsmile:

Parking

Sounds very nice but looks very narrow on google would you have to park side ways on taking up 2 or 3 bays. Or have we got the wrong location?

Went here but found no camping signs have been put in place and that this is now a none overnight parking/camping area due to new laws passed. Not a good for motorhomes but there is a good site up in Silverdale near by called Holgates.

Moved over to the Dark Side after 16 yrs tugging.
The roads in the area are narrow, particularly the section from Silverdale to Arnside beside the coast and beside the Knott, There is great walking in the area so its better to pitch up and stay for a few days. There are a couple of CLs and Gibraltar Farm, Fell End and Hall More, and a few others and Holgates if you want to splash the cash. The area isn't suited for wildcamping.
