Argos 747 Nose Down (1 Viewer)

Hi.
We have a 2007 (X250) Argos 747 (actually a 748 but its the same for this). and the nose always seems to be lower, meaning if you want to level the motorhome for the sink/shower/bathroom door, we are always having to use ramps.

This weekend we was a perfectly level pitch but had to put the front on the top 'step' of the Milenco Quattro ramps.

I looked recently at a 2019 model (X270) and it looked exactly the same (Nose Down).

Has any owner found the same? I am considering a self levelling system but generally we use sites which have almost level pitches and the £6K price is off-putting to say the least. Also my concern is that if I need to use the top step of Quattro ramps, then there won't be much left of the levelling jacks to level if the ground was sloping.

We had the nose down problem with our van and tried to park nose on to slopes plus levelling ramps to try and get the shower to drain.
Now we have had the E&P levelling system fitted, we can pretty well park up where we like and all is level and our world is at peace.

My PVC has a slight nose down attitude since fitting rear air suspension - just drive in whichever way makes it levellish...

How about uprating or simply renewing your front suspension, if you Google the problem you'll find a few remedies, apparently a good one is Goldschmitt

Three vans and all were nose down, using Milenco Trident ramps usually sorts this out

Mine was nose down, then I got a leak from a shock absorber so took the oportunity to have new springs and shocks, now I'm level

We are nose down on our Tranny based van.

think it’s due to the higher axle weighting on the rear of the van, . So the leaf springs are in effect pushing the van up at the rear.

never want a flat site, always require a gentle slope !

Its obvious really, there are not enough cases of wine stored in the rear of the mh to keep it level.

Mine is mercedes and is nose down. Fortunately few places are exactly level so just park the right way round.

Hi. Ours is a 747-2 07 plate, and the nose down thing has always been a pain really. Like you, we very nearly always have to use our ramps, but like someone else has mentioned, we do take advantage of any slope that is available. This sometimes negates the use of the yellow wedges.

You may have a point.

I would have thought, the 2x electric bikes, tables, chairs, tools and Fresh water tank behind the rear wheels, plus the Mobicool 40L box full of beer would help but your suggestion is noted.

I'll look into this but as I said in the OP, I looked at a 2019 model at York Rowntree (There was actually 2 of them) and they both looked nose down as well so I assumed their springs were not shot at that age.

The Self Levelling is on my radar but that lack of anyone near me installing and of course the £6K tag makes it hard to justify it to the missus for the 5 mins it takes to set the ramps up.

Did you get it fitted in the end?

Had a similar experience with a local "Alko Specialist". Took the Van there to see about fitting the Alko designed spare wheel carrier that sits under the van at the rear.

Guy from workshop came out. Looked underneath without even a tape measure and said "it won't fit the frames are too close".

I measured it up and it looked like it would on the Alko site. Finally got someone from Alko to help me and they said it should but I could return it if it didn't.

Fitted perfect, not cutting/drilling, just bolted on.

I would never take the negative opinion of one workshop/dealer. It is so hit and miss.

Ours is also nose down but so long as we aint going to roll out the bed and my glass of rum isn't going to slide of the table I am happy, I only use ramps where slope is bad and to be honest most sites I have used are rarely that level to start with and find time spent levelling leaves less time for walking the dogs or drinking rum which are the 2 reasons I bought the van in the first place

All of our 8 vans has been nose down, everything from a pvc to an A class. Mostly on Fiats but one on a Renault Master. We like to park slightly nose down as this means rain runs down the windscreen and doesn’t sit on the roof.

I had a Euramobil 810 (tag axle) for 4 years and it always sat level, not nose down.

The Duetto,we had always sat down at the front.Before we bought it the front springs were replaced due to an MOT fail when one broke. It didn’t affect the handling so we just used levers on site.
