Morning All,

Yes! I know they aren't called Rallies but Temporary Campsites, but you know what I mean.

I appreciate I'm banging my head on a brick wall because I know the Funsters I wish to target
won't read this???

For my sins, I organise and run events for Funsters. By and large they are popular and are oversubscribed.
I therefore have a Reserve List.

When one of the Funsters on the main list cancels, I contact the first person on 'The List' and so on.

That's when the problems start. No names etc. but I have been trying to contact a Funster who should be
going to one of the events. I've been trying since last month. He/She/They? haven't been on here since
the middle of April.

OK, I've resolved that one by giving up and inviting others further down the list BUT!!!

I'm not whinging or whining but this isn't a job. I get a big kick out of finding sites, organising it on here
and getting everyone into one place and having a good time but chasing 'ghost' Funsters is time consuming.

Yes, I could insist on taking email addresses but that shouldn't be necessary.

Rant over. I would welcome this message being Bumped on a regular basis until everybody, especially
those who do not live, breathe, and eat MHF get the message.

Are you pointing the finger Derek! 🤣🤣

No. I'm not pointing it at you. My comment in the OP is of another Funster(s)

I might be raising my middle finger in the air though🖕

At this point it might be worth pointing out to those that don’t realise but you can set up your Fun profile to send you an email when you have a PM so you don’t miss this type of alert even if you don’t “live, breathe, eat and sleep on the forum”

If they don't reply within a timescale move onto the next person.

You are right of course and it maybe that in the future that might be adopted.

It just goes against the grain of Fun to say, 'If you don't do this,' etc. I'm sure you understand.

Maybe Jim could come up with a creative solution for direct communications by TC organisers to registered entrants so they receive a very specific email rather than a generic "you have a message". PM notification emails do not include content unlike posting notifications, so another click required etc.

Some people don't have email

I am sure when I joined one of the requirements to complete the registration was an email address? It’s been a while so I may be wrong.
By default, you register an email address when you join and alerts are sent automatically by email if you get a PM. Just downright rude to register for something then ignore direct messages from the organiser. For one thing it blocks those on the reserve list from having the opportunity

If the meet is full I give a week then move on regardless of whether I have their text number or not. Not your job to have to go chasing folk.

I think you are creating a problem that isn't really there. Send them a PM if they don't respond in 48 or 72 hours move on to the next one on the list.

You are wrong and you are right?
The problem is there without doubt . However, there is a method of getting around it.

Your right you can have as many email addresses as you want and overtime I have but I still don't use them all, some folk change their tech and never set it back up to receive emails or remember what email they have used 😂

Looking forward to coming to the show at bath and west in few months time. Cheers for help last night with pitch size. It’s great people do get involved and marshal and set up events.
