Having spent the past nigh on 8 years in the RV chasing the sun we are going to have a 'different' winter in Austria. Have a look at the weather THIS week this is where we are going. http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98777 If this is a sign of things to come we will have to stock up on the thermals!
If you winter in a cold climate can't think of a better place to do it i've work in Austria in wintertime and it's fantastic especialy christmas thats magical Gutte fahren und aufwiederseihn bis sommer
:thumb: I can't speak German. French yes Spanish yes I am learning German but got a bit stuck on this one that I have been taught. I have been advised to say it everytime I meet someone. Und, was haben deine Grosselterm im Krieg gemacht?
Hi John It would seem that the ladies got their way then Hope that you all have a wonderful trip, and take a couple of bottles of Pussers Rum to warm up your cockles mate Keith
I know that 1000's of European motorhomes put the snow chains on and head for the slopes. How do RV's handle in those road conditions, they should be better shouldn't they, with rear wheel drive and all that weight?
I have no idea how RVs handle in the snow or with snow chains on. We have got the chains but seriously hope we never need them as they are very difficult on the widetrack chassis. I got some for the car, they are easy. As for the ladies getting their way....
Hi Billym i would be carefull who you say that to roughly translated it means "and what did you do during the war" Also you may find that in Austria it is compulsive to carry snow chains ( schnee ketten) with you when the snow falls at least it used to be law :thumb:
"what did your grandparents do during the war" Especially significant for Austria I think Cheers Dave
And what did your grandparents do in the war? They bombed our chip shop thats what! A cuple of years ago we were with some folks in Spain when one guy said he was from Liverpool. The German guy next to him said I have been to Liverpool many times then stuck his arms out to the side and made a noise like a bomber. Who says they haven't got a sense of humour?
Time Hi, As an ex International trucker, when it is time to put the snow chains on, It is time to park up!!!
