The lights either side of the roof vent are very yellow - the bulbs (fluorescent I think) are white behind but the covers are very yellow- have they faded & if so where can I get some new ones please?

If you can get the covers off you could try cleaning them.
If you Google cleaning yellowed plastic there are several methods to try.

Usually, yes. Put in the type of tubes you have and Google LED equivalents.... (y)

Start your search for cleaning methods here.......

and here

I use cheap hair peroxide cream and UV light bulbs like these below to activate rather than relying on sunlight.

Amazon product ASIN B089LGH9KL

The above method is all this re-labelled product is.......Hair peroxide and sunlight.(sunlight not supplied 😉)

Those light covers look exactly the same as ours - I fitted white LED replacement tubes which improved the light output but the covers are still yellow. Might try this treatment.

Just a note of caution - use extreme care when removing the covers (you need to gently lever the clips on the side) as they become quite brittle with age and as they are difficult to find............................!

I think if you can get them less yellowed the led lights will help as they will get less hot.

Looks like Swift group fittings. We had them in our Bessacarr and they also went yellow. I replaced the tubes with cool white LED which through covers matched the warm white spots pretty well.

Replace them with strip LEDs. Disconnect the existing( holders etc, until you get to the 12volt black/red wires)re connect led strips and double sided sticky tape in place of the old strip.

We use Milton to clean sinks and plastic.
Cheap and safe. Leave to soak overnight. That’s it.

I’ve whitened/restored all manor of yellowing plastics with the method described above, although not the light covers in the post.

Used the peroxide method on few items including the Thetford toilet bowl, all very successful. This was the hookup cover. The peroxide was applied with a brush wearing marigolds carefully using cling film to protect the van.
Then further wrapped in cling film to keep the peroxide moist. Left it for a couple of days to get the sun. Removed film and washed off.
I used the 40 peroxide from ebay.

A reasonable result but by far easier to change the front flap for about a tenner.

many many years! since I was a kid
with yellowed car headlights, I use cutting compound or if none in the garage brasso to remove the degraded surface and they finish clear. Then a coat of sealer to slow down further degrading. Yellowed white/cream plastic, strong peroxide as a bleaching agent works well, sometimes

I guess it's peroxide next, judging by the results achieved on the flap.. thanks all(y)
