what food you can take onto main land Europe? We're thinking fresh foods such as milk, etc. We'll buy stuff locally but for the journey we're bound to want a cuppa

Does anyone know of a web site where this infomation is posted?

Thanks

Mick

I am fully loaded except for fresh meat and veg: I usually cook for 2 days in one lot before we leave home. By the third day we are close to any supermarket in Europe for fresh purchases. Personally, I have not had a problem taking anything "not permitted" If there is a law or rule, I have no experience of it. Perhaps one of our buddies here will know more about it than me.

Hi folkes there are restrictions in place left over from the mad cow episode, and bird flue jobby,
the site to check it out on is DEFRA, however there are exemtions for food reqd for the journey, but no clear definitions of how much or exatly what is allowed last year at the port there was a flashing sign saying no milk no eggs no meat etc but we had all of that on board, as did 99.9% of the others traveling, i think for your own needs dont worry, if your thinking of exporting half a cow then think again

Restricted foods??

What a good question, we are setting off on Sunday and I was planning on taking bacon, eggs etc - just going with the usual foods, I never considered there would be any restrictions.

Does anyone know of an official site where we can find out exactly what we can/can't take????????

 Just a point. We have always carried a big stock of foods including Bacon, Sausages etc. We have NEVER been stopped and ASKED what we were carrying when arriving in France or leaving the UK. Only asked on the way back.
