Are Supermarkets open whitsun saturday May 15th in france? (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have any idea if the main Supermarkets are open on the holiday weekend May 15th ( whitsun ) on the Saturday? Also will the Aires /sites be busy?- we are traveling over to France that week end. First stop is always a supermarket or market-refuse to take anything except loo roll to France as we love all their fresh and diverse food and prefer to shop there.

Normally in our area (côte d'azur ) yes but Will definitely be Closed 1st may

Saturday all will be open as normal. Sunday will be normal Sunday hours, roughly 9-12 but not every large hypermarket will be open....Monday will likely be similar to Sunday hours as it is a 'Bank holiday' but as stated not the 'BIG' one of May 1....

There is a Auchan hypermarket just up the road from the port....if you check their website you'll find it on the map..

All of the supermarkets in our area (Haute Vienne) will be open that Saturday & I assume they all will be all over France (as others have said) As there are so many bank holidays in France in May - 4 - then most of the supermarkets also open in the mornings now (9-12) on the actual holidays. However beware most of the supermarket petrol stations will not be staffed on these days & you can only use the card machines at them. So make sure you have a bank card that works in France if you need fuel
