I hope some one can help. I like to when travelling, both in UK and France, to get the beach rod out and do a spot of sea fishing. As I have an Apple iPhone, does anyone know of an app that will use my GPS position to provide the times of the local tides. Also if the app allowed you to enter a location to get this information, that would be an added benefit. The ones that I have looked at don't appear to get good reviews, or they are not of any use in Europe.

Thanks

Hi Paddy
We use Tides plan 12
You'll have to input your location and it'll give you tides at your nearest tidal station.
It's a worldwide planner, I think!! It's free if you only want a seven day prediction but if you want the full monty you'll have to pay

Cheers. Nige

Hi Paddy,

Can't help with Europe but I use the bbc site for sailing in the UK.

It lets you store favourite locations and now let's you see exact tide height for any specific time, just touch the tide curve and it tells you depth and time.

It won't matter after Sunday but bear in mind it's UTC not BST

hope this helps mate, and welcome!

Also sites that surfers use, as it will give wave activity as well.

Try magic Seaweed. My surf nutter of a neighbour swears at it regularly.

Hi Paddy, for the last 15 years I've been using Belfield Tidal software.

After all those years studying and learning how to extrapolate and interpolate for smaller ports, this does it in nano-seconds for all the UK & Ireland and North and South Europe.

Extremely accurate not just a bell sign-wave. Not sure if it can be bought as an APP though. Griff
