Recently bought our new to us mo/ho. Had gaslight low fitted by the main dealer. When I tested it out on the, cooker, fridge, and hob had difficulty getting it ignited. I looked and ran my fingers over the cooker burner and was full of soot. So took it back and politely explained that there pdi needs to be reexamine. Any how long and short was told that the gad I have in my new gallon system, does not work properly as when they link a calor bottle its fine.my system has one gallon bottle and space to attach a calor bottle. So my question is lpg all one gas (uk only) I know its changed around in europe, by season. Is it in UK as well, can you get contaminated lpg from suppliers, it certainly smelt like gas when we filled it up, 2 days before we used it. Or is it again maindealer cow poo.

Gas low not gaslight as predicted text wants to use

Well I think it’s cow poo especially as they fitted the gaslow system anyway.
Not an expert though!

Hi vzac

We have a Gaslow bottle fitted alongside a Calor gas bottle. The latter is the backup incase we run out of LPG, usually but not always bought from our local garage, in the Gaslow bottle. The only time we have any issues is if it has been turned Off for a long period when we restart it takes time for the Gas to get through whichever bottle we have selected to supply it. The Gaslow system runs our Hob, Oven, Central Heating and Fridge perfectly and no worse than if we are using the Caller Bottle as the source. We have not got an automatic changeover system we just turn on the bottle we wish to use when we get to our destination.

If they have supplied and fitted the Gaslow system then I would expect them to heve ascertained the it was working correctly before handing the unit back to you.

Was the 'Main Dealer' a Gaslow agent or a Burstner main dealer? Over many years now I have had 4 new systems fitted to 5 different vans. Only once, have we had any problems at all when a bottle refused to fill. I contacted Gaslow who called me in and they replaced the whole system free when they could not isolate the problem. I had fitted the system on this occasion myself. Gaslow could not have been more helpful or supportive, including none-stop good coffee brought to us while we waited.

Main dealer, system must be working fine as on the calor its apparently fine not been able to check as its now in another garage for alarms etc fitted, next week in another place for new multimedia, then to my local garage who I trust to get the cam belt changed, main dealer refused to do it even though they new it was due while they had it on forecourt, but looking at prices it was about £3 k cheaper than other dealers for sane van age and model. At least I know its being done by a trustworth gagarge.

We have had the same gas low system in all 3 of our vans, no. Complaints so far, we did have a faulty regulator at one point but have a feeling it was a trauma one.

Sorry did not answer correctly. It was a burstner main dealer.

There can be some impurities with pumped LPG which can affect the regulator. It's a good idea to fit a filter (around £50) before the regulator
