Years ago you could connect the above scanner to a computer via an Rs232 plug but no computer accepts them now. I was thinking about using this scanner again and would like to be able to load up frequencies via computer, does anyone have any ideas of how I could do it with today’s tech?

Assuming it's a desktop and has a spare PCI-e slot \ backplate you could fit one of these.

Loads of different models around so link is just for an example.

As an alternative.

Here is the only socket a plug and lead to computer can fit. I did have one years ago rs232 but lost it and of course my desktop doesn’t have rs232 socket, neither does my Dell laptop

The socket at top left of the unit in your photo is a female BNC not an RS232.
The first link in my previous response is to an RS232 PCI-e rear connector you can add to your desktop (assuming it has a spare PCI-e socket on the motherboard).

Now I've realised the type of scanner you are talking about I assume the BNC gives a video output that you want to display on a PC.

You need a BNC to USB video adaptor, I can only find them from US suppliers have a search of security camera sites often used on security video systems.
