The PVC mentioned in the subject has a slightly worrying construction in the toilet considering showering. The shower curtain covers only one of the walls and two walls with wooden finnish are left unprotected. I am not worried about that wood going bad (it can be wiped asap after showering) but it's the wall and the 'floor unit' joint that worries me. There is just a silicone band glued to it, and I do not mean any kind of silicone sealant (like Sikaflex, that is). It's like a tape had been taped on the joint, it's just much thicker stuff.
So, I've been wondering if anyone can tell me how has it lasted during years? It's most likely fine as long as it's there like it's meant to be, but will it harden, shrink or something, allowing water to flow to there it's not wanted. And has anyone made a larger curtain to cover all three walls? This is what I'll be doing anyway, was just wondering if someone has done it already and how?
