We have plans, and a ferry booked to travel from Italy to Greece, early September.
Just been looking at the travel requirements, and wondering if it’s worth the hassle this year.
is it just a” form filling exercise”?, or are Covid tests required, and would this be at every border we travel through.
Anyone done it lately
is Greece open, re campsites Tavernas ..?

The ferry booking is with Viamare, has anyone had a booking , and have you been able to change/ transfer it to a later date, maybe next year
Any advice appreciated.

Don’t know if this is too late for you but we are booked to cross to Greece from Bari on the 2nd September
It is just a form to fill in at the moment.

Hope you have a wonderful time.
We have decided not to go this year, have spoken to Viamare and we can use our booking next year.
Advice was that you will need to get a COVID test carried out in Greece before travel back to Italy.
Our only real concern was that borders between country’s may be closed, on our return journey, and we would be locked down.

Ok. Yes we were told we could delay out ticket use , we were supposed to go in April so this is the reschedule. !
I hadnt heard about the covid test before re entering Italy Will look at that.
I think that countries have to let you transit through if you are a National returning. Only going off someone who was in Romania in full lock down every where and he made it ok with relevant paperwork.
but hey ho , who knows what will happen.
whatever you do instead , happy motorhoming !

The info about the COVID test before return to Italy , came from Dorina at Viamare, that was a few days ago.
Enjoy, safe travels

Can confirm we had a covid test on arrival in Patra early July. Not a problem only takes 5 minutes and your on your way. Returning to Bari 08/09 will see but it's not a problem

We have a ferry booking Ancona to Igoumenitsa on 12/09 and then Piraeus to Heraklion on 13/09 ( by car, not motorhome). AFAIK at the moment you only need to complete the Passenger Location Form which will generate a QCode to enter Greece. However, things could and do change quickly so I'm trying to keep up to date with the situation. We don't return until November so I'm not even thinking about the return journey yet, apart from the fact that we're O.K. to quarantine when we return to U.K. if it's still necessary.

I found Viamare very accommodating when we cancelled, or rather had it cancelled, our Greek ferry bookings. They agreed on our behalf nearly a 2 year voucher. I have given them an outline of a booking proposal for next April. So ring them.

This explains things a bit better regarding entry into Greece.

Thanks for the info Busman . Do you have to complete these forms prior to arriving at port(s) - if so are they online?

They have them
