I'm a newbie
I have been given a colour TFT monitor no makers name in fact nothing visible, I was told it was working but I am stumped as to where to plug the black 90deg male fitting in as I presume it is a live feed and earth and the yellow and red females go to a camera.
if it works I will dash mount it to give a live picture of what is behind my race car trailer which is a large box on wheels the towing vehicle is a PVC Peugeot Boxer 2015 Alto Autocruise which I have changed the head unit in and should give a camera view behind the van from the top of the rear panel mounted camera system when reverse is selected etc.

There is no where visible for the black male to fit into so may not even be for this monitor ! But surely it needs a live feed and earth ?

I could be wrong but ......
I'm sure there should also be a small connection box into which the power lead plugs then the audio and video plugs also go to.
The monitor tales its power from the small box.

That's how mine worked but that's quite a few years ago and things may have changed.

It looks like it fits in the red one?

I notice the red plug in your picture is different to the yellow.
It's very possible the jack plug goes to the red plug.
If the red plug has a centre pin that's where it goes and the yellow carries both video and audio

PhillipSheila well spotted that is the same monitor but and extra Jack but still no idea how to power it up ?

Looks like the right angle lead is 12v power and the other phono leads take composite video. When you power the screen up there may be a button to select which input it displays. You can test it by hooking the phono to a composite video phono on a dvd or Wii.

Its pretty similar to one i used as a small text screen on a raspberry Pi a few years ago.

Pappajohn yes the red female has a centre pin but it is to large for the black to fit it, it almost fits the yellow but not quite.

Martin How yes I agree the black male is a power feed with a very small dia red and black cable but where does it plug into a small black box which I do not have perhaps ?

Yellow is 100% the video input, also the fact its a phono connection is another giveaway.
The pink / red looks to be a female socket for a DC plug, I think you just have the wrong size power lead.
The most common sizes are 2.1 and 2.5mm DC plugs. Ebay will have stock.

Ahh.. I assume that there is no small socket for power then, in which case the red is the power feed.

I have just dug out the old display and it is like the one that phillipsheila shows. The power is fed in via a 5.5mm OD 2.1mm ID jack plug. Video goes in on white and yellow (selectable). Mine has a fuse so I was able to confirm that the connector is wired centre Positive. This is a very common power plug Link to a suitable cable below. If you have any old internet router power supplies or similar that might provide a suitable donor. That is a spare plug sitting next to it from ebay.

Is there a socket on the monitor for the power lead, the red connector may just be power to the camera.

Lenny HB no socket on the monitor at all, Thank you one and all for all your help advice and comments as always a total source of information.

Excellent advice as always I found a old phone charger with correct size male Jack and set it all up with a camera on my bench linked to a 12c battery, And wonderful it all works fine, so now I will order an extension lead and try to get the power feed for it and an earth from the 13 pin euro trailer plug.
