I'd like to replace my halogens but having trouble finding an LED replacement the same size, as the fittings do not allow fitting anything much bigger.

Original bulb is about 8mm diam and about 22 mm in length not including pins

Any help etc...................

Ebay Item 201605081272

I have ordered these in 3w to try.
The 2w is about the length you need.

Aten have the same lamps just 3 times the price

Brilliant, thanks for that Chris.

The Aten lamps include a voltage control circuit, which means they will last longer, not overheat and give a constant illumination.
Well worth the cost.
I had a cheap e bay Chinese one fall out of the fitting and burn through a fleece lying below, luckily we saw it happen and no further damage caused.
The voltage in your MH can vary depending in battery condition ehu etc.so I am told causing the simple lamps top overheat and fail quite quickly, you get what you pay for.

Good point.
When I replaced all the lamps in our van I used some off eBay (including some from China) for the fittings we hardly ever use, just to see what they re like (OK but nowhere near as good quality and I keep an eye on them on the odd occasions that we do use those fittings, just in case.).
For the main fittings, though, I used lamps from Aten and Ledbulbs4U.

We have had 1 bad lot of LED lamps form china which did get hot but did not effect the fitting as any fitting designed to take a Halogen bulb will put up with heat I had a refund for these.

So I ordered from second supplier and had no problems.
The lamps I have in ours and 4 friends vans around 50+ lamps have been perfect at 51p each Item No 151349749382 9SMD 2.5W and not polarity sensitive.
All LED lamps have to have current / voltage regulation to work.
Chinese quality can be poor so I always keep an eye on them when first Installed as I will when Item 201605081272 arrives.
But 99.9 % of LED Lamps come from China.

I'm grateful to Chris for the heads up, and at the price it's certainly worth a shot.

The bulbs are enclosed in our lights, so if one did drop out no harm would be done
