    Hi

I am selling my Narrowboat and fancy a bigger MH. Just wondered if there was anyone out there that had considered getting a narrowboat.

I would be interested to do a swap, px, trade or whatever cash either way.

I am not giving up boating as I am building a bigger wider narrowboat see here

    Interested? PM me.

AT what point in widening does it cease to be a narrowboat ?

The new wide vessel to which you refer is called a barge. Narrowboats have a beam of 6ft 10" ish. Barges are often 13ft beam.

    No, No, No.

Tradition has it that the man steers the boat through the locks and the little woman works the gates and paddles etc.

    Its easy that way.

Agreed mostly, however mine is technically know as a widebeam narrowboat. Mine is 12' beam.

A barge normally has a more sea going design about it.

That has just given me an idea for its name. Any guesses?

It's funny. The canals are full of men shouting from the blunt end at the woman at the pointy many and varied and usually contradictory instructions. Me included. In my defense I always offer the blunt end for the pointy end. Its never accepted.

Biggles, I take up your challenge of a swap.

You can do the washing and the ironing and the cleaning, the kids homework, the hospital appointments, take the medication etc etc

and I will wallow in your narrowboat totally stress free.

It sounds wonderful to me xxxxx

Are you still offering the swap having read this?????????????

and NO Im not joking xxxxx

I've always wondered at what point does a hill become a mountain and a boat becomes a ship?

    Rule of thumb says:

You can put a boat on a ship, but not a ship on a boat
