I enjoy clay shootingnot very good but its good fun

Back before kids and when we had money I used to go. They let me join them because they needed someone to come last. Haha. I was hopeless but enjoyable time

I can’t hit a barn door at 25 yards,so not something I hanker after. :ROFLMAO:

I was part of a syndicate that shot every Saturday through the season, then had clay days through the summer. I don't shoot at all now.

Yes to shoot at Botany Bay near Worsley, they had lots of different target sets, which made it more real.

Did quite a lot when younger, the springing teal caught me out a lot tho

Did it once whilst in Army Cadets. Never held a shotgun before and we were allocated 10 clays each......
First 3 - all missed, then hit the next 7 on the trot....... won a prize for it but I haven't the fogiest what it was..... Never been again but would like to try.

Awesome loads of places to have a go

An old boy who's sadly no longer about, told me to be a farm gate in front of any crossing target. Served me well.

I missed a bit, he also told me I'd rarely eat Partidge unless I got them from the butcher 😂

The price that pheasant etc can be brought for in season it’s not worth going out to shoot them.

Yes you are right, we were a very small syndicate, 50-60 bird days. Between us we could give them away when we'd had a brace. The game dealers aren't interested, understandably, in the small shoots.

Years ago I had a 20 bore (smaller than 12 bore) enjoyed rough shooting, early morning flights and Pigeon shooting in the woods-waiting for them to come back in to roost for the night!
I did manage to bring down 3 Wigeon with one shot.

Used to clay shoot years ago with a Baretta S03 and 682 - Universal Trench - Down the Line - Balltrap - Olympic Trap. Great hobby but has become very expensive my now.

Came 2nd in my patrol at the annual air rifle competition. 1st Daviot/Oldmeldrum scout troop.

Went through to the 'jungle' section. Totally bottled it. The instructor was getting angry because I didn't spot any of the targets in the bushes and because I kept pointing the gun at him, then I didn't get my dummy grenade in to the snipers nest.

Bad day at the office. Got a few medals serving in the special forces though which more than makes up for it.

Just had real problems with the GP getting our medical bit completed for the renewal of our licences. Had to do a formal complaint in the end to get them to complete. £40 charge for each one and Liz’s took that long she has to re apply rather than renew, costing even more.

Which county was that?. Couldnt you have applied for a tempory cert to cover the guns?

Mine runs out a few months after Liz’s so her gun is covered on my license but because of the time the GP took her licence ran out, which means she has to re apply and pay the full fee. The Police never mentioned anything about a temporary certificate being a solution.
