Anyone else feeling crowd-averse?

Funny enough, discussing tentative travel plans with SWMBO this morning we both said we can't imagine going back to being indifferent to other people, let alone crowds. The thought alone takes the shine of happy planning.

No, I’m the same, very wary of getting involved with crowds, going to have to cope eventually when back to normal and at Old Trafford with 76,000 others. ⚽⚽

May have a few drinks first !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Much as I would love life to go back how it was, I cannot envisage going to motorhome shows with thousands of people milling around and then sitting in crowded entertainment halls watching the shows.

Is it just me?
Not just you, I'm looking forward to getting back out in the motorhome, but cannot envisage being amongst big crowds. Its okay for my hubby, he has been out at work all this time while I've been shielding

No it’s not just you, but I would always have avoided anything like that. I’ve never liked crowds. The only time I’ve really been in a crowd is at the football and rugby league games. The idea of sitting in a crowded hall to watch entertainment at a rally or show would be my idea of hell.

Even crowds shown on the telly look absolutely weird!

I don’t think it will take long for it to feel normal again though 🤞
Will we ever be normal, Ger? 🤣🤣

Agree with that. We have also developed an antenna for spotting socially distanced programmes. Did anyone notice the 'Call the Midwife' xmas special? It got really silly when the poor woman in labour was attended by the midwives from about 10 feet away. :giggle: :giggle:

When we went to France last year, pre end of lockdown, we were at a very very remote campsite for 10 days, then went into Germany, we ran, ran like the wind back to France, it was actually very weird and I like to think of myself as strong of mind.

If your outside in a crowd then your pretty well safe. Remember all the crowds at the beaches last year ? Not one infection was traced back to that. BLM and other protests, no surge in cases.

Big indoor arena events might be ify tho.

I think they called it Coronaphobia either that or I made the word up, but it sums it up for me, when I have to go shopping roughly every 10 days I hate it and feel I have come home with it

that said I have booked Lyndon Top for the first weekend we are allowed to, but it’s massive, with no facilities other than water and dump and I expect to be at least 10m from anyone, probably much more , except our daughter and family who we have bubbled with anyway , but we will socialise outside with them , they have a new to them campervan 👍

the new norm isn’t even here yet, but it is going to take some learning 🌈

Funny thing is, I think a large majority will now keep distance as a habit..... not as much hugging/hand shaking kiss greetings, more hand washing/sanistising and using hankies....which hopefully will offset any future covid admissions by reduction in other viral spreads.

Even outside walking I give everyone a wide berth even though I have had the virus and the vaccination a month ago , paranoia has set in :Eeek:
Exactly same as me .

And as for the shows i used to do most of the shows but no more until they ban dogs from the showground , they are now like dog shows, nothing against dogs just inconsiderate owners with dogs on a 100ft extendable lead which is wrapping itself around someone's ankles while they are browsing the stalls .

Never have liked crowds. Why would you? Like them even less now.
Crowds sharing the same experiences, great.
Crowds where you are at odds with their shard experience or other wise not meant o be there, that's different.

(Pre-covid sentiments ;) )

I don't think I am looking forward to the C&CC folk dancing weekends either 😟

No problems once I've had my az,Pfizer, moderna,Sputnik, anything else that is going, plus flu and pneumonia jab and my usual bleach wash,I should be impervious to anything.
not as much hugging/hand shaking kiss greetings,
Watched some Spanish great Each other ,kissing and hugging whilst wearing masks and gloves only yesterday.

We try and avoid crowds whilst away doing a lot of out of season travel
I missed the people at drag racing last year and my partner is definitely missing working at the football
Our favourite village pub has shut for good and we have always tried not to go clothes shopping anyway
We will however fully book the village indian restaurant for a big get together when we are allowed 👍

I don’t feel safe at all if people are around me, even when out walking the dog I am forever crossing the road to avoid people.
I had booked Stratford but am now having doubts about it, just as well I haven’t paid.
Me too - I probably won't be doing Stratford.

I have a few days booked at Bristol Baltic Wharf before it closes for good but what would I do when I'm there? The city centre seems dangerous, museums risky and even shops don't hold much appeal.

It will depend on circumstances.
Never been a big fan of crowds getting in my way...
but not bothered by being in a crowd enjoying a shared experience, such as a concert.

Once vaccinated, I will be comfortable in my protection, than even if someone passes the virus onto me, at worst I'll only suffer mild symptoms if any at all.

You may need to develop a bit of a cough, that'll keep 'em at bay. :giggle:

I feel crowd averse any time. Crowds usually include the 'public' - nasty business.
