Hi
Has anyone been to Lahti FINLAND if so how did you get there. What ferry route did you take and is it easy driving.

I have been to Lahti many times as I used to work for a Finnish company that had a factory there. Only travelled by air to Helsinki and then hire car though - many years before I ever had a motorhome.
Had a particularly hairy journey one Winter during a blizzard.

Thank you for the info.

When we went to Finland we got the ferry from Travenmunde in Germany to Helsinki
Hey SteveandSue, I know it's a long time ago, but how was that ferry crossing? Looks like a long route. Do you remember how expensive it was? How many hours? We are interested in a route from Spain to Finland with the van, and exploring options. Thanks.

A while since we have been to Scandinavia - then the route was pretty reasonably priced as at least 2 think then 3 ferry companies that were/are competitive with plenty of offers - not a long trip as you don't even have to take a cabin on day crossings - then ferry from Stockholm to Turku - fastest and easiest way to Finland s get the ferry from Travemunde - Helsinki - best company is Finnlines in our opinion- always found them helpful - good custmer service.
Loads of options going to Finland - all having their diffferent plus points.

You can find the ferry on Finnlines.com and it's the only company doing that, don't waste time looking for alternatives :-)

I've been just looking it for my September trip, and the cheapest days at that time for a 6m Ducato PVC, two persons and all meals was around 850 euro one way. At this time of year probably way over 1000 euros.

And you might wanna check my info on Finland if you haven't already: https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/finland-infopack.316568/

I been to Scandinavia twice , drove all way round along russian border into Helsinki , fantastic trips .

Its worth joining the Finnlines Star Club - not just for that discount but they do various offers throught the year that are sometimes only for Star Club members - you can save quite a bit if you can commit to a definite date.
